As part of Clarum's mission to build sustainable communities, we frequently participate in research programs for new green products and we have also constructed several demonstration and idea homes that served for research purposes and/or public education on green building.

A few of our partners in these types of projects have included the U.S. Department of Energy's Building America Program, Sunset Magazine, and the State of California Integrated Waste Management Board.

Clarum has constructed several Green Built Idea Homes for Sunset and another exciting collaboration with Sunset is in the works for 2009 in Palo Alto.


Sunset Green Built Idea Homes
Two side-by-side Green Built Idea Homes were built in Menlo Park. One green home was finished off with eco-savvy interior design and the other home featured cutaway wall sections that showcased the energy efficient features.

Sunset Celebration Idea House
A Green Built Idea Home was constructed at Sunset Magazine's headquarters to be showcased at the Sunset Celebration weekend. The home featured 10” SIPS walls along with a host of other green features.

Zero Energy Demonstration Homes
Four demonstration homes featuring cutting edge wall systems and cooling systems were built for a U.S. Department of Energy study in Borrego Springs, California.
